Prototype facility for oil extraction from plastic wastes

SUT is rigorously carrying waste-to-energy research. It develops a prototype plant for converting plastic waste (RDF-4) into gas using the pyrolysis process. It aims to commercially produce petroleum oil from plastic wastes. SUT’s prototype waste-to-energy conversion system will use plastic waste 5-7 metric tons per day and can produce oil approximately 6,000 liters per day. The plastic waste was brought from the MBT system and refuse derived fuel plant (RDF-4) own by the university, and then made into fuel. Read more

Gasification power prototype plant

This gasification power prototype plant uses fixed-bed downdraft gasification technology and use additional heat source from the plasma system. The fuel source of this power plant is refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and the infectious wastes collected from the SUT Hospital. The plant consists of four process, wastes fuel conveyor system, fuel gas production system, fuel gas purifying system, and electricity generation system. Read more

The prototype of small biomass power plant for the community, Suranaree University of Technology, has the capacity of 100 kW. It is a small biomass power plant that can be used with domestic biomass fuel and is suitable for every area and community in Thailand. It uses Biomass Gasification of Open Top Downdraft Gasification type by feeding fuel from the top based on air volume controlled combustion, which is incomplete. Read more
